DJ Khaled Teases Drake Collaboration for ‘Grateful’
It looks like DJ Khaled and Drake have another top secret collaboration on the way.
After repeatedly asking whether the Drake vocals came in yet, the super-producer teased the potential track off his forthcoming album Grateful on social media.
“The vocals that we’ve been waiting for, they came in,” he told his son Asahd. “Yeah, but it’s top secret so we can’t let nobody know. Okay?” The video’s caption on Instagram tagged Drake, making it clear who those vocals are from.
As Grateful‘s executive producer, the five-month-old Asahd has been busy in the lab with his father. “Asahd, I need you to approve my vocals I just added, too. Okay?” said the proud dad. “I want to thank you for doing a great job on this Grateful album. You’re doing a great job as the executive producer. You’re doing great. Super great.”
Last night, Asahd also became an official award show presenter when he helped his dad introduce Ed Sheeran’s iHeartRadio Music Awards performance.
If the Khaled and Drake collaboration comes through, it will be the latest from the duo following “I’m On One,” “No New Friends,” and last year’s “For Free,” which appeared on Khaled’s most recent LP, Major Key.
Grateful is shaping up to be quite the star-studded affair. Last month, Khaled dropped the lead single, “Shining” featuring Jay Z and Beyoncé, and last week, he appeared to shoot a music video with Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Migos, and Chance the Rapper. He’s also reportedly worked with Travis Scott and Mariah Carey on the LP.
Grateful, the follow-up to last year’s Major Key, is slated to arrive soon.
